The same announcement confirms that the Disciplinary Council of Domokos Prisons will meet on April 20 regarding publications that state that Kasidiaris is active on social media through a public payphone.
Relevant announcement in detail:
“As regards the reports in the daily and electronic press, according to which the prisoner Ilias Kasidiaris from Panagiotis is allegedly active in social networks through the general card phone of the penitentiary in which he is being held, the following is emphasized:
– In order to assess and study the above, in accordance with the relevant orders of the General Secretariat of Anti-Crime Policy, the competent Disciplinary Council of the Shop was convened, which will meet on April 20, 2023. A meeting that will not take place for the first time since the Store Disciplinary Board has met in the past on the same issue.
– It is noted that during the regular checks and investigations carried out in the penitentiary institution where he is being held, he has never been found to have any mobile phones or other electronic devices, and his telephone communication is via a payphone.
– According to article 53 of the Criminal Code, the above-mentioned prisoner, like other prisoners, has the right to communicate only with persons with whom he has permission to visit, i.e. with relatives up to the fourth degree and with lawyers, whom he has declared as legal representatives and is expected to hold telephone conversations with them.
– The competent authorities of the penal system constantly exercise the necessary control over compliance with the conditions of telephone communication, omissions or violations of which have not yet been established. Thus, the respective publications do not have accuracy and reliability.
In any case, the General Secretariat for Anti-Crime Policy ensures that the relevant provisions and prescribed procedures are strictly implemented.”
