The videos appear to be of separate events: one may have been filmed recently, while the other, judging by the amount of leaves on the ground, appears to have been filmed during the summer.

The first video, published on a pro-Russian social network on April 8, was allegedly shot by Russian mercenaries from the “Wagner” PMC; it shows the decapitated bodies of two Ukrainian soldiers lying on the ground next to a destroyed military vehicle. .

In the video, a voice can be heard behind the camera, the sound appears distorted to prevent identification of the speaker.

“(Armored vehicle) hit a mine,” says a voice in Russian.

Apparently referring to the bodies on the floor, the voice continues, laughing, “They killed them. Someone approached them. They approached them and cut off their heads.”

The dead soldiers also had their hands cut off, CNN writes

In Russian social networks, it is said that the video was shot near Bakhmut in eastern Ukraine, where for several months the fiercest fighting of the entire war took place, in which Wagner’s fighters took an active part. CNN cannot independently confirm the location of the video.

Cruel footage: a Ukrainian soldier is beheaded alive by an alleged mercenary of Wagner

The second video of brutal brutality, judging by the surrounding vegetation, seems to have been filmed in the summer. The video shows how a Russian soldier cuts off the head of a captured Ukrainian soldier with a knife. A voice at the beginning of the video suggests that the victim may have been alive when the attack began.

Shortly after the video appeared, senior adviser to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky Andriy Yermak wrote on Twitter: “There will be responsibility for everything.”

Adviser to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Anton Gerashchenko, wrote: “Punishment will come.”

Zelensky’s reaction: “We will not forget anything and we will not forgive criminals!”

“There is one thing that no one in the world can ignore: how easily these animals are killed,” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi responded on Wednesday.

“This video… The execution of a Ukrainian prisoner… The world must see it. This is a video about what Russia is, what kind of creature they are. There are no people for them. A son, a brother, a husband… Someone’s child… This is a video where Russia is trying to make this the new norm, this habit of destroying lives. This is not a coincidence. This is not just one episode. The same thing happened in the past, the same thing happened in Bucha, a thousand times.

Everyone has to react. All leaders. Don’t expect it to be forgotten, this time will pass. We will not forget anything! And we will not forgive criminals either. Victory over terror is necessary,” Zelenskyy said.

Brutal executions, a trademark of the Wagner group

Wagner’s group of mercenaries became increasingly known for their brutal moments and gruesome executions of both enemy prisoners and deserters.

In mid-November, a video of the alleged shooting of Yevhen Nuzhin, a former prisoner recruited by the “Wagner group”, who surrendered as soon as he arrived at the front in Ukraine, circulated on social media.

His head is crushed with a sledgehammer, then placed on a brick and tied with tape.

The head of Wagner’s group, Yevgeny Prigozhin, was asked if the footage circulating on social media was genuine, and the Putin ally appeared to acknowledge the veracity of the video with rare sadism. “As for the man killed with a sledgehammer, this performance shows that he did not find happiness in Ukraine, but met unfriendly but fair people. I think this movie is called “A Dog Deserves a Dog’s Death,” said Yevgeny Prigozhin, head of Wagner’s group.

In February, a new video appeared showing the shooting of a former Russian mercenary who escaped from the “Wagner Group” during the hostilities in Ukraine.
