Trial in the case of the murder of Alka: Parents sued forensic witnesses

The parents of a 19-year-old teenager filed a lawsuit against three medical examiners who acted as defense witnesses – technical consultants in the trial of the murder of Alkis Campanos.

In an oral action filed by their lawyer Alexis Kuia with the Mixed Jury Court in Thessaloniki, the parents are suing medical examiners Katerina Apostolidou, Grigoris Leon and Dimitris Galenderis.

The reason was a photograph provided by a forensic expert, technical adviser to the two defendants, and included in his forensic report. The witness testified that the wounds on Alka’s head did not cause the death of the 19-year-old, stating that they were inflicted by hands and feet, otherwise they should be associated with bruises.

To substantiate his scientific point of view, he used in his technical report a photograph from an international scientific journal, claiming that it depicts a skull with a wound from a pubic organ (rod). However, as the prosecutor noted, referring to a specific book, this is an injury attributed to a chopping and cutting tool, namely a cleaver.

In this regard, the prosecutor’s office asked immediately after the end of the trial to send his protocol to the prosecutor’s office of first instance for an investigation and to establish the existence of false testimony and false testimony of an expert in relation to a forensic medical expert. justified.

After Easter, the continuation of the judgment

The trial was adjourned until April 24, when the last witness for the defense (an expert on technical issues) is due to testify. Then, the beginning of the apology of 12 defendants is expected.
