Nearly two years after her assassination 20 year old Caroline Crouch her husband, Babis Anagnostopoulos, her father, David, says, speaking to the Guardian, that he will focus on raising his granddaughter “who no longer has either parent.”

My only responsibility right now is to take care of her daughter.Lydia, who was left without a mother and father, and make sure that she grows up the way her mother would raise her, ”says the 79-year-old man about his almost three-year-old granddaughter.

“I can do it in the Philippines, away from the evil presence of father and parents.y,” adds the retired Crouch, who previously held executive positions in the oil and gas sector.

The move came just a few weeks after the Anagnostopoulos family lost the custody battle foreversince their respective application was rejected by the Athenian court.

In January, David Crouch, who disability and never seen in public, he told ANT1 that his daughter was killed by her husband because of his involvement in the drug trade.

“Unfortunately, his mother still does not believe that her son killed Caroline,” he said then, explaining why it was so important for Lydia to live away from her father’s environment.

About six weeks after the murder, Babis Anagnostopoulos, sentenced to life in prison at the first trial, tried to convince the police that he and his family were the victims of ruthless Albanian robbers.

Last May, a mixed jury in Athens sentenced him to life in prison without recognizing any extenuating circumstances.

A few hours later, the woman killer went to the Court of Appeal, filing an appeal against the verdict, which is expected to be heard on April 24.
