Therefore, it is not surprising that young people are eager to finally get their precious sesame, which will allow them to move around alone, independent of friends or parents. Today, and for many years, the legal driving age is 18, which is simply the age of majority. But soon this may change as desired the government is working on a draft law.

Go even earlier

Currently, it is possible to pass a driver’s license at the age of 17, having started accompanied driving at the age of 15. But in any case, you can’t get behind the wheel by yourself under the age of 18. But it is suggested that the legal age could “fall to 17 or even 16 if certain regulatory blocks are lifted”. This idea comes from a government that wants to bury the hatchet with young people after conflicts over pension reform. But this is not the only measure mentioned. The latter also wishes remove 20 hours of driving mandatory.

Bill

So far, these are just simple suggestions that come from National Council for Reconstruction (CNR) newly created and dedicated to young people, in which the Prime Minister Elizabeth Bourne participates. Several other events are to be presented in the coming months, until the summer. But you should not vote them immediately. At the moment, we do not yet know the content of these proposals aimed at reducing the discontent of young people, many of whom have been demonstrating across France for several weeks.
