Last Saturday afternoon, a 41-year-old man was found hanged in the pre-trial detention center of the Sidirokastro Police Department, Serres, EL.AS has learned.

Shortly before this, he voluntarily surrendered to the aforementioned police department, as a case was brought against him, among other things, for theft. According to police, the 41-year-old citizen unknowingly hanged himself using the fabric of his clothes as a makeshift noose.

It seems that at that time he was alone in the cell. The attendant found him, and although a resuscitator was called to the scene, it was already too late.

The preliminary investigation is being conducted by the Sidirokastro Police Department.
