
A 50-year-old man and his 11-year-old daughter were killed by Russian troops in an apartment building in Zaporozhyein the southeast Ukraineearly this morning, according to Ukrainian authorities.
The State Emergency Service also said that a 46-year-old woman was recovered from the rubble, who, according to her, is the wife of a 50-year-old man and the mother of an 11-year-old girl who died.
City Council Secretary Anatoly Kurtev noted that as a result of the night shelling by two rockets, one building was destroyed and dozens more were damaged.
“Damn Russian terrorists attacked Zaporozhye again, people died,” he wrote in a message on the messaging app Telegram.
The strike is the latest in a series of attacks on civilian targets in the region as Moscow’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine enters its second year.
