Kyiv announced today that Russia concentrates all his efforts on the capture of the city of Bahamut in Eastern Ukrainewhere, according to him, the situation is “difficult”, but his troops are holding out despite the numerical superiority of the Russian forces.
Eastern Military Command spokesman Sergi Serevaty told Reuters that Ukraine had the situation in Bakhmut under control, was aware of Russia’s intentions, and noted that Moscow had tactical successes in some places, but paid a high price for them.
“The situation is difficult, the enemy is concentrating maximum efforts on the capture of Bahamut. However, it suffers serious losses and has no success at the strategic level,” Serevati said.
“All decisions are made with the aim of preventing the enemy from breaking through our defenses, inflicting maximum damage on it and preserving our personnel,” he added.
Bakhmut, a small town in the Donetsk region, has been at the center of hostilities in Ukraine for several months.
“For the successes that he has at the tactical level in some places, the enemy pays too high a price and daily loses combat capabilities,” he concluded.
