The Italians have already appealed the sanction received by Carlos Sainz Jr.

Thus, after the hook of Fernando Alonso after the second restart of the race, Sainz received a five-second penalty, as a result of which he was eliminated from the points.

In 4th place before the accident, Sainz saw himself thrown out by the race marshals in 12th place.

It left Melbourne without points for Ferrari after Charles Leclerc retired on the first lap of the race at Albert Park.

“We hope for at least an open discussion with them (and not the FIA authorities). It is also for the benefit of the sport to avoid this type of decision where you have three incidents in one corner and the decision is not the same. We got the impression that the incident between Gasly and Okon was treated somewhat differently” – Frederick Wasserhead of Scuderia Ferrari.

Max Verstappen won the Australian Grand Prix, which was interrupted several times by accidents. Two veterans Lewis Hamilton (38 years old) and Fernando Alonso (41 years old) completed the podium at the Albert Park track.
