Russian dissident and retired FSB colonel Gennady Gudkov believes that Vladimir Putin may become a victim of his own subordinates: Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Armed Forces Valery Gerasimov, reports Unian.

“Putin may be crazy in his assessment of foreign policy, but he has a very good sense of the threat to his own life. Remember before the start of the war, he completely changed the security and support staff? He feels that danger is near. Defeat in war means death for him. For Putin, the greatest danger is his own environment. He is not afraid of NATO, for people without critical thinking it is all magic. He is not afraid of people because he is guarded by a million security forces. Who should he be afraid of? Only by his associates,” said Hudkov.

The former deputy of the State Duma added that Putin constantly rotates his bodyguards so that they do not commit an act of treason.

“Suppose Shoigu and Gerasimov decide that Putin is doing more harm than good. They will call the head of the CIA Burns in the USA and plan to take Putin out. Putin is more afraid of strikes by his own people than strikes by Ukrainians, which may also be real,” said the opponent.
