
Officers of the Department of Internal Affairs of the Anti-Drug Sub-Department of the Security Department of Thessaloniki identified and detained a member of a criminal group involved in the sale of drugs in large quantities in various regions of the country.
He is a 30-year-old man who is facing criminal charges for violating the Drugs Act.
In particular, at noon yesterday on Monday (03.04.2023) on the Malgaron toll road, the police officers of the above-mentioned Service found and immobilized a car driven by a 30-year-old man, and during the check they carried out, they found carefully hidden in a special cache on the dashboard car panels, 3 packages of cocaine with a total mass of 2 kg and 629 grams and 1 mobile phone, which he used for his illegal operations.
During the investigation conducted in the apartment where the criminal lives in the Attica region, the following were discovered and confiscated:
- 9 packages of processed hemp in the form of chocolate with a total weight of 841 grams and
- a transparent film used to standardize the amount of cannabis.
The police investigation showed that the detainee was a member of a criminal group that was involved in drug trafficking in large quantities within the country and whose role was to obtain addictive substances from the Athens area and transport them to Volos and Thessaloniki with a view to their further sale.
The vehicle in question was confiscated as a means of transporting and concealing the seized cocaine. The detainee will be taken to the competent prosecutor’s office.
