Poland has delivered the first promised MiG-29 fighter jets to Ukraine, a spokesman for the Polish president said today, and the Slovak government took a similar step a few days ago.
On March 23, Slovakia announced that it had supplied Ukraine with the first four such aircraft out of 13 promised.
“Some MiGs have already been sent, they serve Ukraine to protect the security of all of us,” Marcin Przydach, an adviser to the Polish president, said today on the private radio station RMF FM.
Polish President Andrzej Duda announced in mid-March that four such aircraft were to be delivered to Ukraine, specifying that Poland has had about 15 MiGs since the 1990s.
