On the occasion of the visit of Mr. Marcelo Rebelo de Souza, President of the Portuguese Republic, Mr. Antonio Costa, Prime Minister, Mr. Antonio Costa Silva, Minister of the Economy and the Sea, as part of the government initiative “PRR” (Portugal Recovery and Resilience Plan), General Stellantis director Carlos Tavares announced that the Portuguese site will produce, from 2025THE 100% electric versions these models.

Stellantis Mangualde: more than 60 years of production

While production of the current generation of commercial vehicles began in 2018, from the beginning of 2025the Mangualde plant will provide the production of electric versions of these commercial vehicles: Citroën ë-Berlingo / ë-Berlingo Van, Peugeot e-Partner / e-Rifter, Opel Combo-e / Combo-e Life and Fiat e-Doblo, both in official and private versions.
Stellantis Mangualde: modernization and sustainable transformation
For the first time in Portugal, Mangualde will be the first plant to mass-produce 100% electric vehicles, which will be sold both domestically and for export.
To complete this new mission, Stellantis invested in the modernization and sustainable transformation of the factory de Mangualde with new capacities on the production line, as well as a body shop, optimization of the industrial area and the creation of a new battery assembly line.
To help achieve Stellantis’ goal of carbon neutrality by 2038, the Mangualde plant will photovoltaic. This will generate enough electricity to cover 31% of the plant’s annual energy needs, and so onavoid emissions of 2,500 tons of CO2 Every year.
