Spain is in mourning after Paco Naval, a player for Chipione, was fatally stabbed on a street in Cadiz. He was only 24 years old.

The soccer player, who played for an amateur club in Spain, was on the street in the province of Cádiz when he was fatally shot by a passerby.

As reported by AS daily, the aggressor barbarically attacked his victim and stabbed her in the heart.

Paco Naval was rushed to the nearest hospital, but was asked to be airlifted to the Puerta del Mar Hospital in Cádiz, where he died.

“Unfortunately, the injuries were too severe and the footballer died at around 2.30am on Saturday to Sunday.” – says the press release of the hospital.

“A tragedy that has shocked us all and completely saddened him, he was a highly respected young man with his whole life ahead of him.” – representatives of the Chipiona local council also wrote.

Spanish champions Real Madrid also released a statement on Twitter expressing their regret over what happened.

“We deeply regret the death of Paco Naval. Condolences and strength to the family, club, colleagues and loved ones. Rest in peace!”
