A Russian soldier who took part in the Russian military aggression against Ukraine and was on his way to Tiraspol was stopped at Chisinau International Airport.
The border police of the Republic of Moldova reported on March 31 that they found a Russian serviceman who participated in the war against Ukraine in the flow of passengers at Chisinau International Airport. His final destination was Tiraspol, in the separatist region of Transnistria.
“After the interview, he mixed up his statements in an attempt to mislead border police inspectors on the front line. The mentioned person was not allowed to cross the state border, he was returned to his original state by air transport,” the border police said in a statement.
Over the last day, the Republic of Moldova refused entry to its territory to 24 foreign citizens.
The police remind that in order to eliminate security risks, in the conditions of the state of emergency in the Republic of Moldova, as well as the war started by Russia against Ukraine, security protocols are applied at all checkpoints across the state border, which provides for additional control when travelers, especially foreign travelers, cross the state border citizens
