Ukrainians will not fight against Russians at the Olympics in Paris

General Secretary of the Government Oleg Nemchinov said on Thursday that Ukrainian athletes will be allowed to participate in the trials at the 2024 Olympics in Paris, if they do not have to face the Russians, writes L’Equipe.

The decision, made at the suggestion of the Minister of Sports and President of the Olympic Committee of Ukraine Vadym Gutzait, was made after the recommendation of the IOC to resume the participation of Russian and Belarusian athletes in international individual competitions.

The question of their possible participation in the Olympic Games in Paris, which could lead to a boycott of Ukraine, has not yet been resolved.

According to Oleh Nemchinov’s statements, federations that will not comply with the government’s decisions may be expelled.
