
An underground laboratory discovered by DIICOT prosecutors in the county of Bacau had enough products and active substances in stock to produce more than a million doses of anabolics (in the form of tablets, ampoules, vials or powders), Agerpres reports.
DIICOT announced the results of searches carried out on Thursday in the case of the first underground laboratory of anabolic products discovered in Romania.

Thus, as a result of raids in Romania and the Republic of Moldova, 340,000 tablets with various substances, 20,000 vials with multiple doses of substances, 28,000 ampoules, 433 syringes, 8,500 labels, 6,5 kg of powders were found and seized. , active substances, 46 l. liquid active substances and 100 kg of microcrystalline cellulose.
Also seized were 47,000 euros, 42,000 lei, 193,000 Moldovan lei, 15,800 US dollars, as well as 8 luxury watches, 2 crystals (possibly precious stones), 5 cars, 2 offline cryptocurrency wallets, 25 mobile phones and 17 bank cards.
Who led the group
The result of the activity was that the group that founded the laboratory had enough products and active ingredients in stock to produce more than a million doses of anabolics (in the form of tablets, ampoules, vials or powders).
The case stated that several Romanian/Moldovan dual nationals in the second half of 2021 created an organized criminal group that specialized in the production of products containing high-risk doping substances.
This group was headed by a graduate of the Faculty of Pharmacy from the Republic of Moldova.
Taking advantage of the amendments made to Law No. 104/2008 in 2021, the group intensified its activities, in this sense it established an underground laboratory for the production of products containing high-risk doping substances, located in Bacău County. .
Substances used in the production of products are imported from China
Precursors needed for the production of products containing high-risk doping substances were imported into Romania using packages sent from China.
After receiving the active substance, the members of the group manufactured products in an underground laboratory, after which they sent the finished products to consumers of these substances in Romania and the European Union.
From the materials of the criminal prosecution it appears that, starting from the second half of 2021, the group sent parcels from which they received at least 1,000,000 euros, an amount that was invested in goods located on the territory of the Republic of Moldova. .
In this proceeding, 11 people were detained, who will be brought to the judge of rights and freedoms with a request to choose a preventive measure in the form of detention.
DIICOT clarifies that in 2022, the authorities of Romania and Moldova concluded an agreement through EUROJUST to create a joint investigative team to document and eliminate this cross-border group.
