Tsipras for Tempe tragedy: There are specific responsibilities – Not everyone is to blame in general and vague

Chairman SYRIZA-PS, Alexis Tsiprasspeaking today in Parliament during the discussion of the draft law on measures to support the victims.

“We are here today to talk about a wound that opened a month ago in Tempe. With respect and sensitivity. Because this wound remains open. 57 families that have lost loved ones are not closed. It doesn’t close for any of us,” Al said. Tsipras, beginning his speech, emphasized that “the need for respect and sensitivity becomes a hundred times more imperative when universal grief turns into universal anger and a demand for truth and justice.”

The President of SYRIZA-PS stated that “today this is demanded by grieving families”, “young men and women who have been demonstrating in all cities for several days and have been exposed to chemicals and tear gas, the entire Greek society”, emphasizing that it is “a duty to give place for light and truth.

“And there are certain duties that must be given. Not everyone is to blame in general, but vaguely and no one in particular. There are certain strategic decisions that have made the rail network completely obsolete. To achieve the unthinkable: two trains travel on the same line facing each other for 12 minutes,” he stressed and added: “And, in the end, this debt is the highest debt to people who have been unfairly lost. Practical respect in their memory.”

“However, unfortunately, the government decided to go, and in this tragic case, it followed the same path for four years. Against the truth. Against responsibility. Against justice,” he commented.
