Jeep’s electric adventure is well and truly underway ! Jeep’s first electric vehicle, the Avenger, is also the smallest model in the lineup. Highlighted for several months, we had the opportunity to see it with our own eyes and in its world premiere at the last Brussels Motor Show. It was there that the jury of Car of the year chose him European Car of the Year ! A great reward for a Jeep that took its time with the offer 100% electric model in its range.

Until then, there were only plug-in hybrid models. This mini electric crossover will arrive in our country in the coming months, where its relatively low prices should interest those who want to take a step towards electric mobility. But will Jeep stop there? Not because Two new electric models are planned for the next few months.

Jeep Recon and Wagoneer S

On the occasion of “Jeep 4xe Days”, the brand unveiled its electric road map. It eventually aims to become the world’s number one brand of electrified SUVs and 4X4 SUVs. By 2030, it plans to reach 100% of electricity sales in Europe, and still 50% in the United States. One Avenger will not be enough, and there are two models in the program: Premium SUV Wagoneer Sand the more affordable Recon. The latter, unveiled as a concept, today shows a bit more. Last week, Stellantis scooped up several Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge and RAM dealerships in Las Vegas. The possibility (among other things) of them provide new details about Recon. This model, planned for 2024, should to be the first 100% electric Jeep offered in the US market.

More information at the end of the year, pending arrival in Europe

In appearance, it has a very “boxy” silhouette, very square. The original form that appears bring it closer to a 4X4 Wrangler than the Compass or Grand Cherokee SUVs. The same philosophy was applied to the design of the lanterns, which have a geometric shape. The same observation on an illuminated grille featuring the seven famous Jeep stripes. In favor of its useful function: two towing hooks are present on the bumper.

It will be equipped with a All-wheel drive 4X4as well as several driving modes thanks to Jeep Selec-Terrain system (Auto, Snow, Sand, Mud, Stones). We don’t know yet its levels of power and especially autonomy. Jeep should reveal more before the end of the year. Although first proposed in the United States, it is well planned for commercialization in our country.
