The teacher waives the professional rights of students

Satisfaction Request professional rights graduates of university departments of the geotechnical direction, which were created by the laws of 2018 and 2019, are insisted by their teachers. Due to a matter that has been pending for four years, the faculty members of the School of Agriculture at the University of Ioannina have submitted a resignation from their positions. Such as said yesterday “K” Dean of the Agricultural Faculty of the University. Yanina Thassos Chinasrepresentatives of the ministries of agriculture will present their proposals to parliament today to find a solution.

In particular, the law of 2014 No. university faculties, whose degree provides the professional rights of an agronomist and forester. These do not include the departments created in 2018 and 2019 and deal exclusively with the rights of the forester and the agronomist. At the same time, there are other departments with a similar purpose, created in accordance with the same laws and without professional rights. The reason is a total of 11 faculties in 7 universities (Ioannina, Thessaly, Patras, Peloponnese, Western Macedonia, International and Greek Mediterranean).

First… Conclusion

In 2021, the government intended to grant professional rights to graduates of all agricultural faculties currently working in universities. In particular, the regulation on the departments of agriculture of universities, which were established and operate in accordance with the provisions of laws 4559 of 2018, 4589 of 2019 and 4610 of 2019, was submitted to the s / s of the Ministry of Rural Development and Food. However, The provision was put to a vote in Parliament in an amendment, along with an amendment dealing with the professional rights of college graduates, to which there was strong backlash. As a result, the second provision was abolished, giving rise to the professional rights provision of the new departments in the geotechnical sector.

Faculty members of the School of Agriculture of the University of Ioannina present their proposals to Parliament.

Recently, a new regulation has been submitted to the NS of the Ministry of Development and Investment, which, however, is not satisfactory. That is why there are reactions from the student associations and professors of the respective departments. “The regulation is written rudely and hastily, radiating vagueness and uncertainty about the problem that it “wants” to cure, namely: to extend the granting of professional rights of an agronomist to all graduates of existing agricultural schools and departments of Greek universities,” representatives of agricultural schools will say today in Parliament in within the framework of the regulation dialogue. Characteristically, they complain that all interested faculties have completed 85-90% of the five-year undergraduate programs in agriculture on time, as well as the corresponding programs implemented by existing agricultural schools in Greece and abroad. These programs were registered and approved by the then ADIP (now ETHAAE) before being taught to university students.

“Extra-institutional participation”

The participation of the Ministry of Education in the adoption of a ministerial decision on the professional rights of graduates is an unprecedented action. Until today, the responsible Deputy Minister of Education, Angelos Sirygos, has been consistently responsible in Parliament for similar issues for which the respective ministries and chambers are responsible (YPAAT and GEOTEE for agronomists, Ministry of Infrastructure and TEE for engineers, etc.). As Mr. Tsinas says, “the intervention of the Ministry of Education is completely unlawful, untimely and extra-institutional, and indicates the absence of a real will on the part of the state for a final and clear solution to the problem it has created.”
