According to a video by Radio Free Europe, most of the components that make up Iran’s Shahed drones are made by Western countries and can be bought on Aliexpress.
A representative of the Defense Intelligence Service of Ukraine said that inside the drone there is usually a warhead weighing 40-50 kilograms. The most valuable part of the drone is the CRPA antenna, which is used to counter electronic warfare, writes Pravda Ukraine.
Defense Intelligence said all components can be purchased on Aliexpress (not the e-commerce giant).
After disassembling “Shakhed”, Ukrainian specialists came to the conclusion that most of the components were manufactured by Western countries. And because of sanctions, these parts were not supposed to reach Iran.
Intelligence officers share such details with Western partners so they can limit their imports to Iran because of sanctions.
Studying the components of Iranian drones allows the Ukrainian military to look for better ways to counter them.
The video shown shows that Shahed drones can be shot down with small arms. The border guard in the video says that he shot down one such drone that was flying at an altitude of 150 meters.
On the night of March 27-28, an air alert was announced in several regions of Ukraine. From the north and southeast (Bryansk region and the eastern coast of the Sea of Azov), the Russians attacked using Shahed-136/131 combat drones and aerial guided bombs.
According to detailed information, air defense shot down 14 out of 15 kamikaze and reconnaissance drones launched by Russia.
