Paris Saint-Germain fell short of their most important goal this season, winning the UEFA Champions League, and the Parc des Princes group is already gearing up for next season.

According to PSGhub, the French champions are looking to upgrade their defense by bringing in Kim Min-jae, the Napoli defender.

The quoted source claims the 26-year-old has a €52m release clause which could be activated in the first two weeks of July.

Napoli paid €18 million to sign Kim Min-jae from Fenerbahce and he has impressed in his first season in Serie A. Luciano Spalletti’s side are dominating the Italian league and Kim Min-jae is one of the team’s best players along with Quaratzhelia and Viktor Krimen.

The South Korean was replaced by Kalida Koulibaly, who left for Chelsea and scored twice for Napoli this season.

Jose Mourinho wanted Kim Min-jae to be at Tottenham

In an interview earlier this year, Jose Mourinho, now the Roma manager, said he also wanted Kim Min-jae when he was in charge of Tottenham Hotspur.

“I wanted to get Kim Min-jae when I was at Tottenham. I spoke to him several times, our offer was 5 million euros, but those from Fenerbahce wanted 10 million euros.

At that time, Tottenham could not pay such an amount. Now look at Kim, he is the best football player.” – Jose Mourinho said then.

€50 million is Kim Min-jae’s market share according to Transfermarkt.

He has 47 matches and 3 goals for the South Korean national team.
