A 14-year-old girl from Tirgu-Secujesk was sold by her father to several men in exchange for bottles of alcohol and small amounts of money. Whenever she managed to escape and return to her three younger siblings, the child would sleep outside and then be taken back by her father. Moreover, the girl, who was raped, beaten and threatened with a knife, managed to call the police several times and report what was happening to her, but she was ignored, writes PRESShub.

After a speedy trial lasting less than 6 months, the Covasna court imposed sentences for the three defendants, who are currently in custody. The girl’s father and two of the “buyers” received 12 and 9 years in prison for child trafficking and rape, the decision is not final.

Two court police officers from the Tirgu-Secuesca police force were also sent to court for assisting the offender, after the victim reported that she was repeatedly beaten and raped, but they did nothing. In addition, the prosecutors accuse the police officer of forging documents in the case in order not to continue the investigation and in this way tried to cover up the horrors.

From the reasons of the court, it can be seen that since 2018, Victor G. (55 years old) gave his consent for his minor daughter to live with at least three men, each time receiving a different amount of alcohol. He received 50 lei and a case of beer from one of them.
