Christopher Nolan: ‘Oppenheimer’ starring Cillian Murphy lasts three hours

Experienced Director Christopher Nolanreturns to the era of World War II with “Oppenheimer”, an upcoming biopic about physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer.

Oppenheimer was one of the key figures in the Manhattan Project, an attempt to create the first nuclear weapon at the Los Alamos laboratory in New Mexico. The role is played by popular Irish actor Cillian Murphy (“Peaky Blinders”).

According to Matt Damon, who is involved in the film project, “Oppenheimer” will exceed two and a half hours in duration. Specifically, it will run for a total of three hours and is the longest film Nolan has ever made. So far, the longest-running film by the director, who distinguished himself with Tenet, The Dark Knight, Inception, is Interstellar.

In addition to Murphy and Damon, the ambitious project also includes Emily Blunt, Robert Downey Jr., Rami Malek, Josh Hartnett, Florence Pugh, Kenneth Branagh, Casey Affleck, Gary Oldman and others.

For the first time since 2000’s Remember, Nolan released one of his films without the help of Warner Bros. following a dispute between the director and Warner Media’s failed attempt to prop up the HBO Max streaming platform with a model that could have worked but ultimately failed and facilitated an acquisition/merger with the Discovery Channel.
