
At least two people were killed and 12 injured in an explosion near his Foreign Office. Afghanistan in Kabul, according to hospital sources.
“We have received several patients,” said Stefano Sozza, a spokesman for the Italian NGO that runs a hospital in central Kabul.
According to an NGO Twitter post, at least one child is among the victims.
Sotsa indicated that the explosion occurred near the building of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Two witnesses told Reuters they heard a loud explosion near the heavily guarded area of the capital, where government buildings and foreign embassies are located.
The cause of the explosion is not yet known, and the police have not made any statements.
In recent months, Kabul and other urban areas in Afghanistan have been the target of several attacks, some of which have been claimed by the Islamic State.
An explosion in January outside the Ministry of Foreign Affairs killed at least 5 people and injured dozens, as it occurred at the end of the working day, when workers were leaving the building.
The Taliban government stressed that it has made the safety of its citizens a priority. To this end, it has carried out numerous raids against alleged IS members.
