The police only reported that the operation was closed and the case is now being investigated. The spokesman refused to comment on the perpetrator of the attack.

Bild reports that the police were called shortly before midnight and that 28 vehicles arrived at the scene.

As DPA reports with reference to the local prosecutor’s office, one of the dead is suspected of opening the shooting. He apparently fired several shots and killed another man before shooting himself, a spokeswoman for the Hamburg prosecutor’s office said Sunday morning.

Seven people died and several were seriously injured as a result of the carnage that took place on the evening of March 9 at the community center of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Hamburg.
