Victoria Azarenka made a surprise exit from the WTA 1000 in Miami after being beaten in three sets by Poland’s Magda Lynette in the third round, 7-6, 2-6, 6-4.

Victoria Azarenka lost to Magda Lynette at the WTA in Miami

The Pole, who is ranked 16th in the world, managed to take the first set to a tiebreak, where she won 7-3.

The second set belonged to the Australian Open doubles winner, and the roles were reversed in the deciding set, where Lynette took advantage of two service losses from Azarenka to advance to the next round.

The match lasted two hours and 30 minutes.

In the 1/8 finals, Magda Lynette will meet the winner of the third favorite of the tournament, Jessica Pegula, and Danielle Collins (30 WTA).

The Miami Open takes place from March 21 to April 2 on hard, is part of the “WTA 1000” category and has a total prize pool of $8,800,000. There are 96 players in the main draw, and the reigning champion is Iga Svyatek.
