Bianca Andreescu advanced to the third round of the WTA 1000 in Miami with a three-set victory over No. 7 seed Maria Saccari 5-7, 6-3, 6-4.

Maria Sakkari defeated Bianca Andreescu at the WTA in Miami

The first set belonged to the Greek, who took advantage of Andreescu’s two lost serves and ended up winning 7-5.

The second set was clearly controlled by the Canadian, who kept the pace and the difference until the end.

In the deciding set, it was one-for-one, Sakkari (10 WTA) fought back from 1-4 down and gave up hard after losing three serves, 6-4. The game lasted three hours and five minutes.

After eliminating Emma Reducana in the first round, Bianca Andreescu (31 WTA) will face the winner of Angelina Kalinina (28 WTA) and Sofia Kenin (164 WTA).

The Miami Open takes place from March 21 to April 2 on hard, is in the “WTA 1000” category and has a total prize pool of $8,800,000. There are 96 players in the main draw, and the reigning champion is Iga Svyatek.
