The Lusitanian scored a brace for Roberto Martínez’s side but also set a record that is hard to equal in international football.

In the match played on Thursday, Cristiano Ronaldo reached 197 caps for the national team of Portugal and became the player with the most caps in history.

The previous record belonged to Bader Al-Mutawa, who played 196 matches for the Kuwait national team. The Egyptian Ahmed Hassan closes the podium with 184 heels.
