Rejection of three defense motions

Following the young man’s testimony, the joint jury was asked to rule on the requests that had been submitted earlier by the defendants’ lawyers. Accepting the district attorney’s proposal, the court rejected them all.

In particular, it was about three appeals that dealt with the following issues:

  • Will be called to testify by police officers of the Subdirectorate for Combating Sports Violence in Thessaloniki.
  • Find witnesses near the crime scene and call them to testify in court.
  • Send a request to the Viber company – through which an unknown person sent a video (lasting 15 seconds) of an attack on the president of the AC. Aris – for the deconfidentiality of telephone conversations and the identification of the sender of this video.

IN her negative sentence, and on the first request, prosecutor Kyriaki Klyaba stated that the police officers for Sports Violence did not carry out pre-investigation actions and actions, and on the second request she emphasized that anyone who wants to speak out or knows something about the incident would have already applied to the competent authorities for this prosecutors. Regarding the third request, she noted that Viber is not a mobile operator and “for so many years it has never responded” to such requests, since “its policy is not to give information.”

They are included in the case file. 180 documents, including the conclusion of a forensic medical examination, video recordings, seizure of evidence and protocols of arrests..

In addition to this, documents will be submitted by each lawyer on behalf of their supervisors. After that, the process of interrogation of witnesses for the defense will begin, followed by an apology of the accused.
