A 25-year-old man who was accused by a 19-year-old girl of attempted rape last Thursday evening outside the old 424th military hospital in Thessaloniki was sent to prison after confessing to an investigator.
In his statement, the defendant, originally from Bulgaria, allegedly referred to memory lapses due to drunkenness. With the consent of the prosecutor and the investigator, he was recognized as a temporary prisoner.
Shortly before the aforementioned incident, he was reported to have committed a similar act with the 22-year-old victim, whom he allegedly followed to the apartment building where he lives on Agios Dimitriou Street.
In this case, the defendant in the misdemeanor case was sent for trial. However, the court considered itself incompetent and sent the case materials to the prosecutor’s office to qualify the imputed act as a criminal offense.
