The DOJ bill tightening legislation on the theft of materials on the railway network from misdemeanor to felony also provides that the decisions of the first courts for the victims of the tragic Tempe railway accident, which award compensation to the relatives of the victims of the tragedy and the survivors, will be immediately declared enforceable, t .e. they will immediately receive the amounts that will be awarded to them.

The bill also provides for the provision of free legal assistance to relatives of victims and victims who want to go to court.

The bill, which is being worked on by the Ministry of Justice, includes provisions to recognize enforceable decisions of the courts of first instance, according to which compensation will be awarded to relatives of victims of the tragedy and survivors of a railway accident.

The announcement of the decision of the first instance as an executor will result in the payment of compensation to be awarded to relatives and survivors, and at the same time will enable spouses, civil partners and relatives up to the second degree to apply to the free legal aid procedure (Law 3226/2004) for claims for compensation (civil lawsuits) or prosecution in criminal courts against those responsible for the tragic accident.
