Iryna Begu advanced to the second round of the WTA 1000 event in Miami after defeating Alexandra Eala of the Philippines following a superb comeback in the second set.

After an hour and 50 minutes of play, Begu won 6-2, 7-5 against the Filipina, who is ranked 219th in the WTA rankings and has a wild card.
