
Russian and Chinese leaders Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping concluded their first informal one-on-one conversation in the Kremlin today, which lasted four and a half hours, according to Russian news agencies.
According to the RIA-Novosti agency, Putin escorted the guest out of the Kremlin. The two heads of state are expected to dine together tonight, followed by more formal talks tomorrow, Tuesday, which will be accompanied by the signing of agreements to deepen Russian-Chinese cooperation.
Putin went outside to accompany his Chinese counterpart, TASS news agency said, adding that they briefly spoke in Xi’s car and then shook hands to say goodbye.
Earlier, Putin told Xi that he had considered Chinese proposals to resolve the conflict in Ukraine, adding that the two sides would have the opportunity to discuss these proposals, TASS reported.
