The businessman said to New York Post: “I was afraid to fall in love, but I knew that this would be my last time. So be it, I’m happy.”
He added that he proposed to Mrs Smith on St. Patrick’s Day, noting that he was a quarter “Irish” and was nervous at the time.
“For both of us, this is a gift from God. We met last September,” Ms. Smith told the New York Post, adding, “I’ve been a widow for 14 years.”
