OUR Keira Knightlruled out her return to the film series”Pirates of the Caribbean”, saying that she would not want to change the way the character Elizabeth Swann leaves the story.
The actress (Atonement, Pride and Prejudice, Love Actually) said she was pleased with the way Elizabeth’s end was written. When asked by Entertainment Tonight about a possible return to film, she replied, “We saw her sail so beautifully in a unique style.”
Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl turns 20 this year. The film franchise helped launch Knightley’s career, which has since become well-known.
However, as she admitted, she does not remember many details of this story, because her participation came at a turning point in her busy career.
“The first film launched my career. In the same year, I starred in Do Like Beckham, Love Actually and Pirates of the Caribbean. I get asked about all three films. Unfortunately, I was 16 or 17 at the time, so I don’t remember much. But yes, it was definitely a very important year for me.”
Knightley’s comments come days after producer Jerry Bruckheimer admitted that it would be great to have Johnny Depp back as Captain Jack Sparrow. “I’d like him to do the film, that’s all I can tell you.”
