its president China Xi Jinping will visit her Russia from March 20 to 22, announced the Kremlin and the Chinese Foreign Ministry.

According to the Kremlin, during the talks, issues related to the further development of relations and strategic cooperation between Russia and China will be discussed.

Also, according to Moscow, “a number of important bilateral documents” will be signed.

The visit comes at a time when China appears poised to broker an end to the war in Ukraine, an effort the West is skeptical of.

Russian news agency TASS reported in late January that Putin had invited Xi to visit his country in the spring.

In February, Putin met Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Moscow and said that President Xi would also visit the Russian capital soon.

China and Russia forged a “borderless” partnership in February 2022 when Putin visited Beijing for the opening of the Winter Olympics.

The two leaders have met 39 times, most recently in September during a summit in Central Asia.
