From Vieira’s staff, only goaltending coach Dean Kiely remained in the team.

But ultimately the results of the last few months have put us in a precarious position in the Championship and we felt that changes were necessary to give us the best chance of staying in the Premier League.” Steve Parishpresident of the Crystal Palace club.

After these results (7 defeats and 5 draws), Crystal Palace finished 12th in the Premier League (27 points, eight points behind the 11th-placed team) and were relegated from the FA Cup.
