The police conducted several searches in Sector 1 of Bucharest and Ilfov County in the case of an illegal gambling organization. The man is being interrogated, suspected of organizing such events in several places, for participation in which he demanded from 500 to 1,500 lei.

“On March 15 and 16, police officers of the Bucharest Municipal Police General Directorate (DGPMB) – Economic Crimes Investigation Service executed two search warrants on houses in the city of Bucharest and the county of Ilfov, in a criminal proceeding in which an investigation is underway into the commission of crimes for the operation without a license or permit any activity in the field of gambling business, in an ongoing form”, – informs the DHPMB.

According to the investigation, since March 2022, the man secretly organized gambling games with playing cards for various amounts. During the investigation, it was established that several people participated in these actions both at his address in sector 1 and on the territory in Ilfov county, from whom the suspect demanded and received between 500 and 1500 lei for their participation.

“Following searches conducted on March 15 and 16 respectively, several sets of chips believed to be used for the game were discovered and seized, as well as approximately 50,000 lei, 13,650 euros and 100 dollars. At the same time, the organizer of the games was charged 20,000 lei and 2,000 euros,” the quoted source said.

The specified person was brought to the court session to take measures.
