
TrellisWare Technologies announced today that the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) presented its annual award to co-founder Andreas Polidoros in recognition of his continued technical contributions to the field of military communications.
According to the announcement, Dr. Polydoros received the prestigious award on November 30 during the 40th Conference of the Institute for Military Communications (MILCOM) held in Washington DC.
The annual award, established in 1998, is awarded to individuals who have made a long-term and significant technical contribution to the development of military communications. Doctor Polidoros became the 24th laureate.
MILCOM is recognized as an outstanding forum that brings together key figures in government, industry and academia to discuss innovative research and development of cutting edge technologies.
Dr. Polydoros currently serves as Chairman of the TrellisWare Technology Advisory Board. He received his PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Southern California (USC) in 1982.
That same year, he entered the USC School of Electrical Engineering, becoming a professor in 1992. Dr. Polidoros was the author of the treatment concept for every survivor and co-author of the related patent (1995). His seminal work on spread spectrum communications led to him becoming a member of the IEEE in 1995.
