After the very minor restyling of the Mercedes Class A and Class B a few months ago, it is the turn of the compact SUVs from Mercedes to go through this stage.
There aren’t many aesthetic updates for our two heroes in the program, as you can see from the photos, but rather a few welcome tech and engine updates.

Microhybridization for one gasoline engine
The first novelty of these restylings concerns the range of engines. The only petrol engine available in France now accommodates electrification systemthanks to the introduction of a small electric motor that can also act as a starter to generate up to 10 kW of additional power during start-up phases.
The plug-in hybrid version of the 250e (only available on the GLA) also evolves and gets a more powerful 11kW on-board charger that can go up to 22kW as an option.
The GLA is still available with gasoline engine with a capacity of 163 hpwhile the diesel versions do not use micro-hybridization and maintain the same power level, namely 150 and 190 hp. A plug-in hybrid version of the 250e is still in development 218 hp. On the side of the GLB we find the same gasoline engine with a capacity of 163 hp, and two diesel units with a capacity of 150 and 190 hp. There is no hybrid version of the latter.
Technology update
As such, there is little change from an aesthetic point of view, apart from the adoption of a new light signature for the headlamps, bringing them closer to the new models in the range. The light signature has also changed at the rear, with a design similar to that of the new GLC in the case of the GLA.
There are few changes inside, except that the MBUX system is now available as standard with a 10.25-inch screen. Driver assistance systems have also been revised, with, for example, more details on the traffic support system. The steering wheel has also changed and looks like two drops of water on the S-class.
Prices for the Mercedes GLA and GLB have yet to be announced for the French market, but they should certainly be around where they are now, starting at €45,300 for the GLA and €48,600 for the GLB.
