Britain’s Cameron Norrie lost his Indian Wells quarterfinal match to Frances Tiafoe (16 ATP) after two sets, 6-4, 6-4.

Cameron Norrie knocked out by Francis Tiafoe in Indian Wells

A former winner of the Indian Wells trophy in 2021, Norrie started the first set well and led until he was down on serve before the American was able to win.

The second set also started with Norrie (12 ATP) down on serve and Tiafoe won by the same score as in the first set, 6-4.

The match, which was initially abandoned after five minutes due to weather conditions, lasted an hour and 25 minutes.

In the semi-finals in Indian Wells, Francis Tiafoe will meet the winner of the 5th favorite Daniil Medvedev and the Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich Fokin (28 ATP).

Indian Wells will be held from March 6-19 on hard and 96 players have started in the two main draws. The contest offers $8,800,000 each for men and women. Titled champions – Taylor Fritz and Iga Svyatek.
