First registered in July 1989 in the Netherlands BMW M3 Cabriolet E30 in a stunning ‘Macau Blue Metallic’ blue livery, owned by its previous owner for approximately 12 years. It has recently been suggested auctionand its price has skyrocketed.

To understand its history, you have to go back to the 1980s, when the second generation of the BMW 3 Series was launched under the name E30: the first opus BMW M3 was born in 1985, then the Cabriolet version was launched in 1985. 1988. While the M3 E30 Coupe was produced in relatively large numbers, only 781 convertibles were built.

Indeed, the seller indicates that the transmission shaft, brake hoses, exhaust system, air conditioner, windshield, fog lights, hood, front bumper, soft top, steering wheel, battery, or radio should have been replaced. The model has also undergone a complete overhaul and is ready to hit the road again.

During its life, this M3 benefited from an engine swap with an M5 engine and transmission installed. But during his BMW Classic restoration, the owner wanted to return to original M3 configuration : under the hood, a 2.3-liter four-cylinder “S14” engine and a five-speed gearbox were again installed.

This example BMW M3 Cabriolet E30 has a ‘Macau Blue Metallic’ paint finish which has recently been polished to bring it back to its full shine. The soft top is also in excellent condition.

Inside, there is black leather upholstery that looks pretty good for its age, though with minimal creasing and signs of wear. The seller also states that the car was sold with a spare tire and jack, and all documentation and service history is provided.

Due to its rarity and excellent condition, this BMW M3 Cabriolet E30 was recently auctioned for a price 95,500 euros. Although sporty models with the “M” badge are currently in high demand among fans of the brand, this is an incredible price for a used BMW over 30 years old!
