Stanislas Wawrinka stopped in the last 16 of the Indian Wells Masters tournament, the three-time Grand Slam winner was beaten in straight sets by Yannick Sinner.

The 37-year-old Stan (100 ATP) was on course for a big win against another important member of the younger generation, Holger Roon, but he was unable to cause the Darren Cahill-coached Italian too many problems.
Yannick (13 ATP and favorite 11) won the match after an hour and 38 minutes of play with a score of 6-1, 6-4.
It will be recalled that “Stan The Man” was at the top of the ATP hierarchy at number 3 (in January 2014), and during his career he won three Grand Slam tournaments: Australian Open 2014, Roland Garros 2015 and US Open 2016
In the quarters, Sinner will face American Taylor Fritz (4th seed), who defeated Rafael Nadal in the final of last year’s Californian Masters tournament.
