
A 19-year-old man was identified and arrested by state security authorities after issuing a warrant for assaulting President K.O. and Secretary of MePA25, Yannis VaroufakisFriday at Exarchia.

Recall that G. Varoufakis was attacked by a group of people on Friday evening near a restaurant on Valtetsiou Street in Exarchia. After the attack, he was examined at Evangelismos, where he was diagnosed with a fractured nasal cavity.
In the morning, G. Varoufakis appeared in public for the first time after the beating in Exarchia, the blows were visible on his face. According to him, his nose was broken in six places, while he did not fail to warmly thank the medical and nursing staff of Evangelismo.

Responding to related questions about the incident, the MeRA25 leader noted that a group of 6-7 people entered the store where he was with the group and insulted him. He followed them outside to talk, and then they started punching and kicking him, accusing him of voting for the memos.
As regards the arrested 17-year-old, Mr. Varoufakis stated that he was acting as a chiller. According to him, the leader of the group and the main performer was another young man of 25-27 years old.
Finally, he said that, under pressure from his wife, he would be forced to accept the police escort to which he was entitled, although this was neither easy nor pleasant. “They will hunt me” (including his policemen), Mr. Varoufakis said jokingly.
