ASEP: Results before Easter

It is expected that the results of his competition will be published by Easter. ASEP (Superior Board of Personnel Selection), which took place on 4 March, was attended by 77,000 candidates. However, many candidates expressed strong dissatisfaction with ASEP’s decision to accept correct answers to all 17 mathematical thinking questions that caused problems in the printouts of the subjects, as they consider this decision unfair to their own work.

There was also a reaction that the broadcast of subjects in some examination centers was carried out with a considerable delay, “as a result of which some candidates were in a worse fate after they were injured,” according to the statements of the candidates. social media posts.

It is noted that in 55 examination centers out of 527 operating throughout the country, photocopies distributed to candidates on 17 questions did not have hatching on the included numbers, which led to the impossibility of understanding. ASEP decided to consider all answers to these questions correct, because if they were deleted, some candidates who answered them correctly and others incorrectly would suddenly be “below base”. ASEP sources state that this is the first “failure” on such a large number of questions, however, on the other hand, they note that measures have been taken (supply of toner – photocopying in all examination centers) and add that the visualization of diagrams is especially difficult. Regarding complaints about clarifications given after the withdrawal of some candidates, the same sources emphasize that any clarifications relate to these 17 questions, so “there is no problem with the Board’s decision to accept all answers as correct.”

At the same time, many candidates criticize the competition itself as a selection system for civil service positions, pointing out that their studies should be enough. OUR ASEP President Athanasios Papaioannou emphasizes the “K” that “under no circumstances can there be any doubt as to the validity of the tender.” At this stage, the Council photographs the answer sheets with hidden names so that when the names are revealed for the purpose of establishing the merit order of the candidates, there is no suspicion of falsification. It is reminded that those who succeed in the competition will not be recruited directly, but will form a pool from which public sector recruitment will be made over the next two years.
