Millions of viewers watch the Oscars every year. However, the images shown on television are either of the large hall where the ceremony takes place, or of the red carpet – this year’s champagne – that leads into the hall. But there is also a more private area where the cameras do not have access. The Greenroom is a cozy place where hosts, nominees and winners of the Oscars gather during the Oscars ceremony. There they have the opportunity to rest before going on stage or after receiving their award. Each year this luxurious living room has a new theme and is embellished with a Rolex.
Greener than ever
The first thing that catches your eye in Greenroom 2023 is the predominance of green. Bamboo partitions, exotic foliage on the ceiling, specially designed furniture and environmentally friendly materials – fiber, ceramics, glass. The Green Room was designed as a serene green garden, with walls in neutral tones interspersed with rainforest-inspired colors, shapes and textures.
Green may be the signature color in a brand’s logo, but the reason it was chosen is more “poetic”. This is Rolex’s way of expressing its commitment to Mother Nature and the environment through the Perpetual Planet initiative.
Passion for cinema
Rolex is a proud sponsor of the prestigious awards presented annually by the American Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. The close connection of Swiss watchmaking with the world of the seventh art goes back many decades. Her watches have been featured on the wrists of legendary film characters, many of whom have won Academy Awards.
Rolex is committed to preserving and passing on the art of cinema to future generations. He contributes to the improvement and promotion of cinema along with his ambassadors (witnesses), who can be living legends such as Martin Scorsese and James Cameron, or young talented actors and directors.

Rolex partners with the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences as a sponsor of the institution, awards, and Los Angeles Film Museum. In addition, he contributes to the development of The Seventh Art through the Rolex Mentor and Protégé Arts Initiative.
