For the first time in a straight match, Sorana Kirstia (83 WTA) overcame Bernarda Pera (43 WTA) in one hour and 9 minutes at the end of the match under the control of the only player from Romania who remained at Indian Wells 2023.
Sorana played well in the first set, also taking advantage of her opponent’s 4 double faults. It took her only 39 minutes to award her first action.
