Next Wednesday and Thursday, March 15 and 16, Moscow will host a four-way meeting of the Deputy Foreign Minister for the war in Syria, announced last week by Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu.

According to the Turkish state television company TRT, a meeting of the deputy foreign ministers of Russia, Turkey, Syria and Iran will be held in the Russian capital in the coming days.

Earlier, Russian Presidential Envoy for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov told the Russian news agency TASS that Russia was continuing to work on organizing a quadripartite meeting scheduled for this week.

The meeting will be attended by Mr. Bogtnanov, Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister Burak Aksapar, Ali Asghar Haji, Political Adviser to the Iranian Foreign Minister, and Deputy Foreign Minister Aymen Susan, who will represent Syria.

The meeting may have a broader content beyond the Syrian issue as Russia, Turkey and Iran have some common interests in recent months that they want to promote.

Meanwhile, the total official death toll from earthquakes in Syria and Turkey exceeded 55000.

In Turkey on Monday, the latest count is 48,448 deaths, while in Syria, the latest count is 7,259 deaths. But in addition to those 55,707 people, tens of thousands more are estimated to be missing.
