One person died, five were injured in an explosion in the regional capital Balkh V northern Afghanistandays after the death of a provincial governor in an explosion claimed by a jihadist organization Islamic State.
“There was an explosion at the second police station in Balkh,” a police spokesman said. Balkh Mohammad Asif Waziriwho confirmed the death of one person, noting that three of the five victims were children.

The cause of the explosion is currently unknown.
